Takako (Furuta) Cunningham, 90, of South Kingstown, RI passed away peacefully on Monday, January 9, 2023 surrounded by her loving family. Takako spent her younger years in Japan before moving to the United States in the late 1950's. She was the wife of the late James Turnbull and was remarried to the late Robert Cunningham, who passed in 2019. Takako was known as a very kindhearted person who loved people. In her younger years, she worked for the Davisville Naval Base for several years before leaving the work force to raise her five children. Takako was a lifetime member of VFW U.S. Auxiliary and the DAV Auxiliary. She was proud to gain her citizenship in 2017. In her free time, Takako loved to play Poker and Bingo with her friends and sewing. Takako is survived by her son, John Turnbull and his wife Diane of FL; her two daughters, Catherine Brissart and her wife Elaine of South Kingstown, RI and Christine Turnbull of Providence, RI; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
