Obituary For Maurice G. Landry

Maurice “Moe” G. Landry, 80, of Swansea, MA, passed away early Sunday, November 26, 2023, after a prolonged battle with cancer. Born in Warren, RI, on the date of April 20, 1943 to the late Maurice O. Landry and Adela M. “Paquette” Landry. Moe was a decorated radioman for the Navy over a nine-year period from 1961 to 1970, which included service in the Vietnam War. After the service, he taught at the Rhode Island School of Electronics before taking an engineering technician position at Raytheon, where he worked for almost thirty years.

Moe was an avid golfer; he loved the game and could always be found on the course. In his retirement, he was a member at the Swansea Country Club along with working there on the weekends. He also started a golf group at the club called the “Over the Hill Gang” with his friends. If he wasn’t on the golf course, he was building computers, taking photographs, designing websites, or spending time with his family.

Moe was a devoted father to Melissa L. “Landry” Harper of Somerset, MA. The pride and joy of his later years were his grandchildren, Clayton J. Harper and Skyler A. Harper of Somerset, MA. Moe was incredibly selfless when it came to his family, always taking his grandchildren to and from school or extra-curricular events. He was the brother of Alice Tupaj, Helene Patsy, Theresa Legault, Claudette Lavey, Jeanne L. Connery, the late Mary Landry, and Richard Landry.

Arrangements are with Family’s Choice Cremation, 8 Schoolhouse Rd. Warren, RI. For tributes, please visit: www.familyschoicecremation.com.
