Obituary For Mary M. Soares

Mary M. Soares, 59, of Bristol, RI, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 14, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She was the cherished daughter of the late Albert and Johanna (Valente) Silva and the beloved wife of the late Carlos Soares. Mary was a lifelong resident of Bristol, where she built a community of friends and family.

Mary delighted in spending time with friends from her senior community, enjoying outings to local attractions and frequenting favorite restaurants, like Wright’s Farm. She loved visiting comedy clubs, especially the Newport Playhouse, and was an enthusiastic pickleball player. Above all, Mary treasured time with her family and was loved by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her.

She is survived by her son, Eric Soares, and his wife Victoria of Tiverton, RI; her brothers, Michael Silva and his wife Carlene of Warren, RI, Peter Silva and his partner Jason McCloy of Cocoa Beach, FL, and David Silva and his wife Loyda of Swansea, MA; her sisters, Bernadette Brown and her husband Fred, and Margaret Woods and her husband Donald, both of Warren, RI; and her beloved granddaughter, Juniper Rain Soares. Mary was predeceased by her brother, Albert Silva Jr.

Arrangements are entrusted to Family’s Choice Cremation, 8 Schoolhouse Rd., Warren, RI. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 9:30AM on December 7, 2024 in His Providence Church, 262 Swansea Mall Drive, Swansea, MA 02777.

    Met Mary through our group called The Gifting Circle when I invited a bunch of strangers to my garden for lunch. She was such a delightful person. I was so sad to she she had passed. She came apologizing for.not bringing a dish but offered her hugs and plenty of smiles. We all enjoyed her. Jillian Bisbano
