James L. Brown (Jim) 67, passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer on Thursday, March 4, 2021 in the Phillip Hulitar, Hope Hospice and Palliative Care Center, Providence. Jim is predeceased by his parents Marilyn (Batty) Feeley and Ralph Brown as well as his brother John Brown. He is survived by his loving partner of 18 years, Vanessa Tancredi. He also leaves behind his brother Charles Brown, sister-in-law Margie Brown, son Jeremy and grandson Luca. Jim was born in Providence on February 25, 1954, he was a resident of Rhode Island for the entirety of his life; living in North Providence for the past twenty years. He worked as a steel worker, truck driver, and as a carpenter before retiring. Jim had a passion for nature, he loved sitting by the ocean, bird watching, and gardening. He will be remembered most for his witty jokes and loving personality. At his request there will be no visiting hours, a private memorial mass will be held at a later date in the spring.
