Heidi (Henneberger) Rueb, 70, of East Providence, passed away on Christmas Eve with family by her side and Bob Dylan’s music serenading her. The daughter of the late Robert and Kathryn (Dalton) Henneberger, Heidi was the beloved wife of Eric Rueb, who she married on the steps of the Rhode Island State House in 1979.

Heidi was an accomplished artist with an eccentric personality who remained true to herself regardless of the situation. She was a talented gardener, made extravagant quilts for her family and anyone else who needed one, and was often in charge of cooking at all family functions.

Heidi had other hobbies - painting on just about anything she could find - and shined during her working days at Shaw’s Supermarket. Her most important job was the one she cared about most, raising her three children and always being there for them whenever they needed her. Heidi also watched over her nieces and nephews and her children’s friends and treated everyone like they were her own, then repeated the cycle when she became a grandmother.

In addition to her loving husband Eric, Heidi is survived by her son, Eric D. Rueb, and his wife Stacie, of Foster; her daughter Amolia Rueb of East Providence; and Annie Rueb and her husband James Bixler, of Willits, California; as well as her five grandchildren - Avery and Savannah Rueb, Kaleb Montecalvo, and Tulsi and Samara Bixler.

Arrangements are with Family’s Choice Cremation, 8 Schoolhouse Road, Warren, RI.

A Celebration of Life is being planned for 2026.
