Obituary For David P. Escobar Sr.
David P. Escobar Sr., 54, of East Providence, RI, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, May 13, 2024 with his loving family by his side. The son of Diamantina (Souza) and the late Jose P. Escobar and the beloved husband of Melissa (Costa) Escobar for the better of 36 years. David was a proud Townie and lifelong resident of East Providence.
David took pride in his work and providing for his family. He was very involved in the Local 330 Brotherhood Carpenters Union, currently employed by Century Drywall. David couldn’t sit still for very long and was always looking for his next project. He could fix anything and everything and was proud of the tool collection he was able to accumulate over the years. In his leisure time, David loved to ride his Harley and spend time with his family and friends. He really loved people with everything he had and was the first to extend help to those in need. He was the walking definition of generous, caring, and genuine – he literally gave his shirt off his back to someone in need. David also made himself available as a mentor to those struggling with substance abuse. Above all else, David loved his family and absolutely adored his grandchildren, nothing made him more proud.
In addition to his beloved wife, Melissa, and his mother, Diamantina, David is survived by his three children. His daughters, Ashley Bradley and her husband Christopher of Cranston, RI, Allyson Hall and her husband James of East Providence, and his son, David Escobar Jr. and his partner, Alexis DelRosso of East Providence; his brother, Arlindo Escobar of East Providence; and his six grandchildren, Gianna Escobar, Myles Hall, Brooklynn Bradley, Izabella Bradley, Leo Hall – aka David Escobar Jr.-Jr., and Scarlett Hall. And his faithful Pitbull Busta.
Arrangements are with Family’s Choice Cremation, 8 Schoolhouse Rd. Warren, RI 02885. A Celebration of His Life will be held on Monday, May 20, 2024 at 6PM in the Restoration Church of RI, 244 Lexington Ave. North Providence, RI 02904.

At an early age Dave to me had already established himself as someone larger than life. I always respected and admired him because his personality and charm had not only matched his storied neighborhood reputation, it far exceeded it. He was an amazing human being who battled his demons and found the strength to overcome them with the help of his family and friends and then go on to help others himself. The legacy he left behind is one of triumph and tragedy but it's his acts of selflessness and love that will forever endear him to everyone who's lives he has touched. May you rest in eternal peace my friend.

Dave I can't thank you enough for your friendship. Got the pleasure to work with Dave this past year and when I found out I was having a daughter. Dave was the first person I told and he couldn't be happier for me. He gave me so much confidence and reassurance that I would be a great father. And when my baby finally did arrive Dave was the first person to call and see how we're doing.. We cannot thank you enough Dave for the beautiful gift you left our daughter just before you left us all. I am going to miss very much my friend. The jobsite will not be the same. Was really looking forward to going to Van Halen this summer. But of course we'll save your seat brother. Rest easy Dave and thank you again for being a true friend

I've always considered David a friend, not just a coworker. He has worked for me and with me over the years and quite a few now . Although I may go a year or two without seeing him, I am blessed to see him once a year at Tommy P's golf tournament. I am also grateful that I got to spend time with him on my job before his early passing. He was a pleasure to work with and every single person I talk to in every trade says the same about this man. He was a gentleman and a beast at the same time. Century drywall will surely miss this man and me I will never forget him. Not as a worker. Not as a carpenter but as a friend. David.... You will never be forgotten. And to his wife and children.... Please keep you're heads up. David would want you all to stay positive and keep trucking. See you monday
