Obituary For Carol Lee Pray

Carol Lee (Silvia) Pray, 80, a lifelong resident of Rhode Island's East Bay, passed away on Monday, September 22, 2025, at her residence. She was former the wife of the late Roger Pray.

Born in Providence, RI, she was the daughter of the late Manuel and Mary (Coccio) Silvia.

Carol will be remembered for the kindness and love she shared with those around her. Whether it was shared with the neighbors she greeted even on her hardest days, friends who experienced her deep loyalty, or her family who looked up to her, Carol's love was never spread thin.

You may remember seeing Carol when she worked at Old Stone Bank or during her employment with dermatologist, Dr. Lewis Fragola in Barrington. Her most important and meaningful job came in 1997 with the birth of her first grandchild Matthew Tyler and 3 years later with the birth of her granddaughter Nicole Lee. Carol was elated to take on the role of Mimi and loved spending precious time before and after school helping to raise them.

While all who knew Carol felt her kind heart and love, those lucky enough to have shared a laugh with Carol knew what true joy sounded like. Her humor and contagious laugh echo in the hearts of her loved ones.

Carol is survived by her daughters, Melissa A. Hamilton and Holly A. Pray; grandchildren, Matthew T. Hamilton and Nicole L. Hamilton; nephews, Richard M. Sousa (Jennifer), Christopher J. Sousa (Colleen) and Jonathan S. Sousa (Iris); and a large extended family of relatives and friends. She was the sister of the late Mary Ann “Dolly” Sousa (Richard) and Bridget Hawthorne.

Arrangements are with Family’s Choice Cremation, 8 Schoolhouse Rd. Warren, RI 02885. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at 11AM in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 141 State Street, Bristol, RI with a Celebration of Life to follow. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Carol’s honor may be made to: the Women’s Resource Center of Bristol County, 642 Main St. Warren, RI in support of helping those affected by domestic violence.

Mom I miss you like crazy but I hear your voice in my ear. You were always right with your intuition and perspective. Please continue to guide me from above as my angel in heaven. Your honesty and kindness will forever be with me until I take my last breath. Thank you for always believing in me and not comparing me to my sister. You're forever my hero. I hope I made you proud. I love you mommy

I already miss seeing her first on my way out the door. She always had a smile, and her laugh would make my day. Not only could I talk to her about anything, she always offered advice in the nicest way. My deepest condolences to the family. Rest with the angels Carol. You are missed. Deb
