Koschny, Beverly, 87, of Newport, died on Friday, September 25, 2015 at Village House Nursing Home, Newport.

Born in Newport, RI, she was the daughter of the late Ruth Bateman (Springler) Koschny and the late George Koschny.

Ms. Koschny had been a Newport resident all her life. She was the police matron for the city for many years.

She is survived by her daughters, Beverly Furtado of Newport, and Melody Coffey of Middletown. She also leaves two sisters Natalie Pfanstiehl of Newport and Georgette Maloof of Florida. She was the beloved grandmother to Holly, Aimee, Lauren, and Christopher and great grandmother to Ana and Elle.
