Anthony Matarese, born on September 13, 1930, died peacefully surrounded by loving family on February 7, 2025. He was 94 years old.

He was also affectionately known as; Dad, Pop, Papa, Papa Bull, Ripley and Uncle Tony to the loved ones in his family. He was a resident of Warren, RI and was an active member of his community. A man of principles, Tony was active as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses and loved sharing his love of the Bible with all who would listen.

Tony worked for Kaiser Aluminum for many years, where he was respected and admired by his colleagues. After he retired from Kaiser Aluminum, he continued to work at Burlington Coat Factory in East Providence, RI and Marshalls in Swansea, MA. He finally finished working in his late eighties. This speaks to his strong work ethic.

Anthony is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Patricia; his children, Lisa (Borgia) and her husband Steven, Leslie (Havriliak) and her husband Chris and Bryan Matarese; his grandchildren, Jenna (Borgia) and her husband Nathaniel Peloquin, Molly (Havriliak) and her husband André DeMarre, Tyler Havriliak and his wife Sara, Elizabeth, Ethan and Owen Matarese. He had two great-grandchildren; Henry and Giada Peloquin. He was preceded in death by his parents, Antonio and Gionannina (Barone), his son Brad, and his siblings, Angelina (Principe), Gaetano, Elizabeth, Casperino, Thomasina (Travers) and Henry.

Anthony enjoyed his ministry, Colt State Park, riding his bike, playing cards and his love of food- pizza, eggplant parmigiana and fried clams were a few of his favorites! He was known for his hard work and was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need.

Arrangements are with Family’s Choice Cremation, 8 Schoolhouse Rd. Warren, RI, 02885. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Anthony’s life at a memorial service to be held on March 8, 2025 at 1:00PM at the Warren Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
