Obituary For Barbara Kathryn Chick

On March 8th, 2023, Barbara K. Chick passed away peacefully at HopeHealth Hospice in Providence, Rhode Island. She was born to Kathryn Chick and adoptive father, William Chick on May 14th, 1942. She was joined five years later by her younger sister, Lynda Fife.

Barbara graduated from Washington High School in 1960, being noted for her beauty as prom queen. At age 18, she moved to New York City to pursue her passion of modeling, acting, and dance. Barbara worked as a secretary at Social Security in New York City, then went on to study psychology at Point Park College in Pittsburgh, PA.

Barbara is survived by her daughter, Lisa Anderson (Bill), and preceded by the death of her son, Steven Grimaldi (Annette). Her younger sister Lynda, and grandchildren, Rocco Grimaldi, Liam Anderson and Elizabeth Anderson, and nephews, Jonathan and Kevin Fife, carry on her memory. She deeply loved her family, especially her grandchildren, who she consistently supported and prayed for over the years.

Barbara was a deeply spiritual person, devoted to the prayer of Silent Unity, a ministry that has been available to offer immediate prayer support for people of all faiths, and from all parts of the world.

A notably active citizen, Barbara always kept a close identity with her political views and ideals, giving her support through voting, donations and staying involved in current world events. Along with her passions, Barbara loved the music of Elvis Presley and Barbara Streisand, enjoyed a good card game, and involved herself in meditation, exercise, and leading the group exercise and tap dance classes at Grace Barker Nursing Home.

Barbara will be laid to rest with a private ceremony at The Cremation Garden at North Burial Ground in Bristol RI on Saturday, March 18th, 2023. For tributes, please visit www.familyschoicecremation.com.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Unity Prayer Ministry www.unity.org or call 816-524-3550. Your donation will help provide 24/7 prayer support to people by phone and online.

Barbara loved her grandchildren very much. They were so special to her and enriched her life. Her spirituality got all of us to be more positive in life.
